1. What if I need a lab test?
A: Gold Diagnostics partners with top labs throughout the country and our doctors will refer you to the closest lab to you after providing you with your lab order. When your results come back from the lab the doctor will reach out for a follow-up appointment.
2. Can online doctors prescribe antibiotics?
A: Yes, an online doctor can prescribe antibiotics following a virtual consultation. Antibiotics are a prescription medication and therefore you must speak to a doctor before you can receive them. That said, you can meet with an online doctor and get prescribed antibiotics or antivirals online. In that way you avoid the doctor’s office and can receive treatment from your home, or on the go!
3. Can Gold Diagnostics prescribe medications?
A: You can get a prescription fast by skipping the doctor’s office and meeting with a doctor online. Gold Diagnostics offers same-day appointments with board-certified doctors . The average consultation lasts just 15 minutes. We see patients with or without insurance and our doctors can write new prescriptions and prescription refills for all non-controlled substances.
4. Do online doctors work?
A: Online doctors work great for treating non-emergency conditions such as minor bacterial infections, the cold and flu, or COVID-19. They are also useful for managing chronic conditions and getting prescriptions filled and refilled, without having to wait in a doctor’s office.
5. Does Gold Diagnostics accept my insurance?
A: Gold Diagnostics accepts all insurance companies.
6. Are there any conditions that Gold Diagnostics does not treat?
A: Our clinicians can diagnose and treat most things you might see an in-person primary care doctor for. However, there are sometimes instances when we recommend you see a doctor in person. We don’t treat women with pregnancy-related symptoms, surgical, ophthalmologic or orthopedic concerns. We also don’t prescribe controlled substances, and we cannot prescribe other high-risk medications that are subject to abuse.
7. Is the data I share with Gold Diagnostics private?
A: Gold Diagnostics is HIPAA compliant and we apply high-security standards to protect your personal information and your privacy. Gold Diagnostics is also compliant with the European Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). We will use your data only to improve our services and to provide them to you. You can learn more about our privacy policy here.
8. Do you provide doctor’s notes and sick notes?
A: During a pediatric consultation, clinicians can write notes for your children to return to, or be dismissed from, school, activities, camp, and more, if needed. During an adult consultation, our clinicians can only provide a note stating the date when a patient was seen and that a treatment plan/care was established.
9. What are the most common conditions you care for?
Our providers are trained to help with a wide variety of conditions and concerns with our main focus on cold, flu, and COVID-19.
10. Can my doctor prescribe medication as part of a Gold Diagnostics visit?
A: Yes, if the Gold Diagnostics provider believes medication is warranted, he or she can write a prescription and send it directly to the pharmacy of your choice. Please be aware that we do not prescribe controlled substances (e.g. narcotic medications, anxiolytics, stimulants). And finally, Gold Diagnostics does not guarantee a prescription will be written; that will be determined by the physician, based on your clinical presentation.
11. Is Gold Diagnostics safe and private?
A: Confidentiality is a respected part of GOLD DIAGNOSTICS’s Code of Ethics. We take your privacy very seriously. Laws are also in place to protect your privacy.
